The power of hands-on leadership

A team effort

Author: Mike Edwards, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

I think it’s part and parcel of what we do. If we get to September/October time and we are hitting our metrics, it’s more likely that we will pick up awards along the way.”

This is a wonderful quote from Rainworth Motor Group Joint MD Jon Atherton, reflecting on the business’ recognition as Škoda Retailer of the Year. It sums up three things for me; the power of KPIs, a business model where success becomes inevitable because everyone is pulling together and the power of hands-on leadership.

In yet another year of significant change, economically, with the advent of agency models and the arrival of the FCA’s Consumer Duty regulation, focused agile operators such as Rainsworth will need to use all of their skills to meet the challenge.

However, they are not alone; this year, the power of collaboration with trusted partners will once again be essential.

At AutoProtect Group, we are renowned for our value-added service product range, compliance expertise, digital prowess, and our people, notably those seen in showrooms across the UK. Our continuing success is all about collaborating with our dealer clients to manage change and develop products and technology that help them and their customers, and with our i-Comply expertise, to assist our dealers in staying compliant in their F&I activities.

I am certain collaborations will need to be more profound. Regarding F&I and the Consumer Duty, oversight responsibilities make this a certainty. Rainworth’s come over as an impressive role model. While not a client at this time, if they or other dealers are looking for a collaborator on their F&I journey of change, where KPIs, a business model built around success and hands-on, accessible leadership matters, we should be talking.

Congratulations to Rainworth Skoda on their success.
