AutoProtect REVIEW of 2016

As 2016 draws to a close AutoProtect has revisited some of the biggest motoring news stories of the year and brings you up to date.

Alternatively fueled vehicles continue to grow in popularity. Overall sales may still be modest but they have risen again by 12.4% in October and 23.3% in the year so far to 75,987 registrations. In percentage terms, far ahead of the wider market and the highest ever level achieved in the first 10 months of the year. Year-to-date performance for the overall market remains ahead by 2.5%, with 2,330,663 new cars registered. The one dark cloud on the horizon is the increasing range being offered by all-electric cars and the potential damage this may do to hybrid residual values in the years ahead.
