AutoProtect Group appoints new Head of Compliance

AutoProtect Group is pleased to appoint Peter Carter as our Head of Compliance.

Peter will lead our compliance team, taking responsibility for the implementation and development of the program across the organisation. His role will encompass both internal compliance and oversight of the compliance network to ensure our business meets and exceeds its regulatory requirements, while upholding good conduct and culture. Peter will be working closely with our iComply team and dealer network to secure a seamless transition for our clients.

Peter joins us from a senior public sector compliance role. Before this, he had six years’ automotive experience implementing F&I and GDPR compliance in dealerships across the UK.

Commenting on his arrival at AutoProtect Group, Peter says:

“I’m impressed with the innovative projects and plans that lay ahead of us and look forward to working collaboratively, building on my previous experience in process improvement to achieve the business’ objectives.”

Effective from 3rd October 2023, Peter’s appointment completes our restructure following Tara Williams’ move from Chief Compliance Officer to a new role within the business earlier this year.

Graeme Nieman, Chief Executive Officer, comments on Peter’s appointment:

“I’m thrilled to welcome Peter to our business. His experience, knowledge of the industry and passion for compliance make him a perfect fit to lead this business area in future success.

I’m confident that he will continue to uphold the high standards we’ve become known for, as well as charting his own horizons for compliance across the organisation, and for our clients. Welcome to AutoProtect Group, Peter.”

We look forward to the next chapter for our compliance team under this new leadership. If you have any questions regarding this change, you can reach out to your AutoProtect Group representative, or email Peter directly at
